What in the world am I working on?
building a creator led label and music curation platform in 2024
Welcome to my new creative outlet where I’m excited to share what I’m up to and building with putyouon. Go ahead and leave questions / comments you may have on the post and I will make sure to get to them.
This week I’m focusing on what is in the immediate pipeline for putyouon. I feel that it will be helpful for people to see what’s coming next.
This is my first newsletter since 2020. A lot has changed with putyouon since then. We have scaled to over 450,000 playlist followers, coined a new genre in dance music, created the putyouon music club, finished two sold out hat drops, five sold out events, and entered a Joint Venture to change the way independent record labels work with artists and operate within the music industry. I’ve set my goals on helping the next generation of music curators build their own platforms and its starting with the putyouon Music Curator Guide. Here’s what is coming next to the platform.
The Music Curator Guide
There will be a release of a complete guide and breakdown of how I’ve built up putyouon over the years. Anyone who is interested in becoming a music curator (we’re still VERY early in the days of music curators and we need a lot more) will be able to read the 22 page document and have a gigantic advantage in starting their own music curation platform and personal brand in music. I’ve started a waitlist to get the guide the day it drops. This guide will include:
THE DIGITAL LANDSCAPE AND MUSIC CONSUMPTION
WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A MUSIC CURATOR
WHY ANYONE CAN BECOME A MUSIC CURATOR
THE VALUE OF CURATORS AND THEIR PLAYLISTS
BECOMING A BRAND VS A PAGE
+ 7 more chapters and an entire section on content tips I’ve learned after 10,000 + hours of recording and editing music content on socials.
The guide will be dropped in the music club- a community of over 700 music fans, artists, DJ’s, producers, and music curators. If you haven’t already, join the club here. It’s free and the best way to be involved with the platform.
Hats + Hoodies
We’ve completed two successful hat drops in the past 18 months. Both selling out in the first hour. The design includes a phone number that if you call, walks you through how to use the putyouon platform via an automated voice message. I then collect the people who have called the number after a year of the hats being in circulation and send them a text to join the music club for fun. Thought this was a genius idea haha. I also hand pressed all of these with a heat press and vinyl- another reason I loved these drops so much.
The update here is that I’ve recently partnered with New Era to produce a run of the 9Forty A-Frame snapbacks. This has been my style of choice lately and the style I want to have for my next drop. I got the connect through attending a meetup for one of my favorite podcasts “Group Chat” and met a former guest of the show who is close with the folks at New Era and approached him and told him about the drops etc. It pays to get out and meet people.
I also have hoodies that I JUST got a sample for. I’ve been rocking the sample to see how it does over time. Love the weight and design of this one. I wear hoodies in all of my content basically so this was an obvious choice to include in the capsule.
Meet-ups
I’m meeting with the social club Neuehouse this week on partnering with them on a regular meetup for music heads at their Venice location. I live in Santa Monica, so I want a west side industry and music head meetup to happen. There are so many cool people in music on the west side of LA and think it would be really fun. The space is gorgeous as well.
putyouon Radio (Spotify exclusive)
My guests this season of putyouon Radio have been amazing. BUNT., BLOND:ISH, Zerb and Dombresky. This was Dombresky’s FIRST EVER podcast interview… I was honored and surprised because he is hilarious and has such good stories. Must listen if you’re a dance music fan
I’m prioritizing the music club now.
Not only is the music club the only way to get invited to our events (we are planning a lot of in person music club activations at the moment), get added to our Spotify playlists, and get updates on all our drops and updates. It’s also the way to get the best new music sent straight to your phone every Friday. Here is the most recent private playlist from this past Friday:
Next week I’m gonna break down the difference between a label and a record label, and how I’m applying this thought process to Putyouon Music Group. I will also give another sneak peak into the curator guide (I even made a putyouon GPT for the music club…) - so much game on the way.

hey! i'm Ana and you have no idea how much i appreciate your content. i want to grow a community and basically do something similar over here in Mexico and all your videos and info have been really helpful and inspiring! looking forward to the guide drop!
This is awesome and looking forward to the music club. Would be cool to host events outside of LA or even make it a connection between different areas (I am in SF and know how big the music scene is here). All have the same love for music at the end of the day 🙏🏼
